Job Summary:

Signature Consultants is seeking a Accounts Payable Clerk for an opportunity with a client located in Grand Prairie, TX.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive, open, and sort incoming mail
  • Review and submit invoices for approval
  • Track and follow up timely on unapproved invoices
  • Post invoices in various accounting systems
  • Process received PO's
  • Reconcile, process, remit sales/use tax for multiple states
  • Assist in resolving invoice-related inquiries from internal departments and external vendors
  • Routinely interact with vendors to reconcile transactions and balances to maintain accurate accounts, including questions or issues related to unpaid or past due invoices
  • Know when to escalate to department head or senior management
  • Answer incoming calls and timely respond to vendor e-mails
  • Proactively resolve vendor issues and problems working cross functionally with sales and operations teams
  • Prepare check run using various predefined payment methods (EFT, check, credit card, etc.)
  • Make continuous improvement through investigation and recommendations to supervisor
  • Meet defined department goals and activity metrics


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • College level accounting courses preferred
  • Three to six years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Industry knowledge is preferred
  • Must have strong work ethics
  • Must be self-motivated and a team-player
  • Must be detail-oriented, reliable, flexible and professional
  • Must be able to self-manage assigned workload distribution
  • Independent worker with ability to achieve goals and targets as well as thrive in a busy, time-sensitive environment
  • Proficient in MS Office - Outlook, Excel, and Word; 10-key by touch
  • Possess strong organizational, time management, and decision-making skills
